About Us

"Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on."

- Louis L'Amour

Over a period of time, the EPS Writers' Club has evolved into a group of enthusiastic, passionate, and self-directed writers. Our journey has been amazing, and the progress we've made leaves us awe-struck! Here is our journey in a nutshell.

It all started in grade 5, when some of us were in Ms. Vanishree's class. As she began to change our seats, we realized that thoughts were fumbling around her mind; She noticed our curious eyes, suddenly twisted her bejeweled ring, cleared her throat, and began to sing her own verses that she created on the spot:

"A peacock and a peacock,

A snake and a snake;

That's the combination,

I'm trying to make!"

That was it - we were so fascinated by her creativity; it ignited a spark in us to start writing. After a lot of brainstorming, five of us got together and created a class booklet. Initially, we did not have big ideas, it was just about finding individual success. Progress was slow in 6th grade. In grade 7, our teacher ensured to create writing tasks that prompted everyone to compose verses in their own reasonable capacities. This accelerated the poem writing spree in us. Moving to Grade 8, we welcomed our second mentor, Ms. Aparna, who, along with Ms. Vanishree, helped us through every hurdle and added value to what we hoped to achieve.

Progressing from there was not easy. After all, not every one wants to be a writer, and more so, a passionate individual; not everyone is ready to make sacrifices. Moving forward, we came up with a promotional video to encourage students to compose. This video gave us a sense of pride and achievement as we could reach out to many novice writers. We are thankful our mentors, and Ms. Benita for guiding us in creating our promotional video.

We merged the clubs of all the sections to form a single entity. All the writing enthusiasts were now together. Getting closer, we experienced each others' skills and talents. This resulted in expanding ourselves, and push past our limits. Through the ups and downs, we realised the value of cooperation and collaboration. We continue to learn and expand ourselves through every success and challenge. Our ability to express has noticeably improved. We are certainly proud of our growth.

We are currently focusing on poem writing. We are working on various writing skills, one step at a time.

Our mentors are Ms. Vanishree, and Ms. Veena. We wholeheartedly thank them for their efforts in turning us into compassionate individuals. We shall truly remain undebated to the kind of support we have received. We are optimistic that we would be nurtured further too.

We hope our story inspires you to start penning down your thoughts! We encourage you to write and share your compositions with us. We would be more than glad to assist you.
